Love this salsa recipe! I use a ton of ingredients from my garden and CSA box. Note: If Trader Joe's has its Hot & Sweet Jalapenos in stock, highly recommend using them in this recipe. The sweet/hot flavor is next level!
Favorite Homemade Salsa
4 large ripe tomatoes, quartered
1 onion, peeled and quartered
4 garlic cloves, peeled and lightly crushed
3 jalapenos, stemmed and seeded (or 1/3 cup Trader Joe's Hot & Sweet Jalapenos, even better!)
1/3 cup fresh cilantro, lower stems cut off (can add more if you have it)
3 Tbsp lime juice (fresh is better)
3 Tbsp ground cumin
2-3 tsp sugar
1 1/2 tsp salt
15 oz can crushed tomatoes
4.5 oz can diced green chiles
Directions:
Pulse all ingredients except canned crushed tomatoes and canned green chiles until chunky. Note: Err on making it too chunky vs too fine. Add in can of crushed tomatoes and can of green chiles. Pulse a few times to combine. Store in refrigerator up to 2 weeks (so good, it won't last that long).
